Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy explains what Fitgredients ("we", "us") collects when you use the Fitgredients app and website, why, and what control you have. Fitgredients is operated from Australia and we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. What we collect
- Account details — your email or sign-in provider ID, and the handle you choose.
- Profile and health details you enter — goals, height, weight, age, sex, activity level, diet, allergies and food preferences. We use these only to calculate your energy and protein guide and filter meals.
- Usage data — meals you log, plans you generate, XP, streaks and badges.
- Photos — menu and fridge photos you scan, and optional photos of meals you have cooked.
- Purchase status — whether you have an active subscription. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
- Device and diagnostic data — device type, OS version, app version and crash reports, used to fix bugs.
2. Photos
Menu and fridge photos are sent for analysis, the result is returned to your device, and the photo is then discarded. We do not keep them. Photos you submit when you finish cooking are stored privately against your account and are only visible to others if you choose to share that cook.
3. What other people can see
Friends can see your handle, level, badges and any cooks you explicitly mark as public. Your height, weight, age, sex, allergies and dietary needs are never shown to anyone.
4. How we use your information
- To provide the app: recommendations, week plans, shopping lists, coaching answers and guided cooking.
- To sync your data across devices (Pro).
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To reply when you contact support.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not show ads.
5. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Fitgredients — for hosting and database storage, AI image and text analysis, subscription management, and crash reporting. They process data only on our instructions and only to deliver their service to us. Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
7. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile and privacy settings in the app at any time.
- Delete your account from inside the app, or by emailing us.
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
8. Children
Fitgredients is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and access is restricted to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach is likely to cause you serious harm.
10. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date above and let you know in the app.
11. Contact and complaints
Email support@fitgredients.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
